Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell celebrated her upcoming nuptials at a bridal shower thrown by her family and friends on Sunday.
The bride wore a short white dress and a “Bride” tiara; and was accompanied by her bridesmaids dressed in toilet paper gowns and veils. Catelynn shared photos of the celebration on Instagram, including a shot with mom April Balierra, and daughter Novalee Reign.
The couple’s adoption counselor was present at the party, having become a close family friend since she helped them through the difficult process of giving up their first daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth, for adoption back in 2009.
Tyler, her husband to be, posted a message to fans on Instagram saying, “Just want to give a shout to all of the amazing people that support mine & Cates journey & have invested their time into learning something from our lives. I appreciate & love all of you! Still hard to believe that 1 million people show their love & support on Instagram for 2 kids in love facing odds together, but I honestly wouldn’t be anywhere without all of you! #AMillionThanks #Blessed.”
The wedding is scheduled for August 22 in Northern Michigan.
Meanwhile, Farrah Abraham is causing waves with her interview in Cosmopolitan magazine in which she draws similarities between herself and Caitlyn Jenner.
Farrah is extremely supportive of Caitlyn’s transformation and her choice to undertake this journey in the public eye.
“My grandma was a nurse and she helped a lot of transgender clients, so growing up, I was very aware of that, and my family and I have always been very supportive of people going through this,” she told Cosmo.
She believes that the message Caitlyn is sharing, about how she envisions herself one way, is an important one for the wider population to understand.
“I envision myself one way… I know how I am and I would love others to understand this. If we have more and more people talking about [plastic surgery], then one day, we will really understand that we aren’t trying to change ourselves, we’re not trying to change how God made us — this is how God made us and we’re going to get there.”
“Everyone goes through transformation all through life “whether it be natural or [with] a little help.”
Farrah also recognizes the dangers of plastic surgery, especially that some people can develop an addiction for the procedures. As far as for herself, she firmly states that she is not addicted: “I definitely feel finished when I’m finished. I know the exact things that I need. I know, for me, what I see in my head and what I envision I am as Farrah — it’s like Caitlyn [Jenner], who talks about this openly, how she envisions herself… ‘this is who we are’ kind of thing.”
She also mentions how important it is for plastic surgeons to be qualified to counsel all potential patients to ensure they are mentally fit to undergo the surgery; and that it is important to diagnose any depression or skewed body image issues that may be driving them to seek the plastic surgery treatments.
“I don’t like going to the hospital. I don’t want to put myself through pain. So I’m very limited; I know what I need and then I call it a day,” Farrah explained.
Season 6 of ‘Teen Mom OG’ has begun filming, but the premiere date has yet to be announced.
