Lindsay Lohan is on the search for faith, as she explains after she was spotted carrying around a copy of the Koran while performing community service in New York last summer.
According to the 29-year-old star, there is so much more to the text than what many have been led to believe.
“America has portrayed holding a Koran in such a different way to what it actually is,” the Mean Girls actress explains, admitting she has yet to complete it.
“I’m not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long.”
Lohan would not divulge her fiancé Egor Tarabasov’s religious affiliations, but she did reveal that her younger sister Ali, 22, has also shifted her religious views.
“My sister is Buddhist, but she is interested in learning other things from me. It’s good to be open-minded,” she said, adding: “We all believe in something and at the end of the day, it all ties to a God or a spiritual adviser.”
A representative for the actress said the following in comment to Page Six, confirming her Catholic-born client’s exploration of other religions:
“Lindsay has always been very spiritual and is open to exploring all religions and beliefs. She is simply educating herself on other peoples beliefs.”
