✈️ Earn double Avios on British Airways (and American) flights

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about a major change to the way British Airways awards Avios.

It basically means that mileage is now awarded based on dollars spent rather than miles flown. Which is a bummer.

Except for the fact that British Airways is now offering double Avios on flights between now and early 2024, which definitely helps offset this change.

Here are the details:

All Executive Club members (free to sign up) are eligible
Valid for all British Airways flights
You must register for the offer and book your flights by November 21
Valid for flights through January 14, 2024
There is a limit of 10 flights that will earn double Avios

Overall, double miles is great. If you fly British Airways at all or have plans to travel to Europe in the near future, this is a great way to rack up a valuable currency.

As a reminder, here are the earning rates for Avios based on your level of elite status (or lack thereof).

But it gets even better... this offer also applies to transatlantic flights on American Airlines, Iberia, and Finnair, as long as you book the flights through British Airways.

For example, if you book this flight from Helsinki to New York on Finnair but book it through British Airways, you’d also earn double Avios.

In total, you’d earn about 24,000 Avios from this flight, even without elite status.

Don’t forget that you can use Avios to book flights on all kinds of airlines, including American.

Personally, I’ll be flying to Trinidad from Toronto soon on American Airlines, which I booked for 20,000 British Airways Avios.

So as you can see, this is a great chance to earn outsize value from your British Airways (and American) flights and rack up more of a currency that we all know and love.

🏨 Earn triple points at this one Hyatt brand

Double points is cool... but TRIPLE points?? That’s better.

Hyatt is currently offering triple points at Hyatt Vacation Club properties.

Here are the deets:

You’ll earn 15 points per dollar (triple the normal rate of five)
You need to register for this offer
Valid on stays through November 21
Only available for paid stays at this one brand

In case you haven’t heard of this particular brand, Hyatt Vacation Clubs is a collection of timeshare properties owned by Hyatt.

That doesn’t mean you need to buy a timeshare (and you shouldn’t anyway), but rather book a normal paid vacation.

For example, if you wanted a luxurious, warm vacation in Key West this coming month, you could book three nights at this Hyatt Vacation Club:

It’s a pricy stay, but with the triple points promo, you’d earn a whopping 19,000 Hyatt points from your stay.

If you book Category 1 hotels (like the one I told you about yesterday), this amount of points is enough for an additional five nights… FIVE!!!

At that point, the high cost of these vacation properties starts to feel pretty darn reasonable due to the outsize value you earn in the form of points.

I don’t suspect this deal will apply to many of you, but for those of you who can swing it, it’s a fantastic way to rack up the most valuable hotel currency and get some major bang for your buck.

Umoja was founded by a woman named Rebecca Lolosoli and is located about 240 miles from the capital, Nairobi.

It is considered by many to be a haven for gender equality. It was founded by women fleeing child marriage and FGM, and the entire village is based on the principles of women's rights.

Umoja is a matriarchal village where women govern society, and men are not allowed to live there. The village has housed as many as 60 women and 200 children, and the current population is around 20 women and their families.
