Ever since going on a life-changing trip abroad as a kid, Ali has been obsessed with experiencing new cultures and visiting new places. In college, Ali started delving into travel hacking and finding mileage run deals to make travel possible, spending her summers between college semesters in Greece, Uganda, and Beijing.

Ali has spent eight years living abroad and has two masters degrees from Tongji University in Shanghai and Bauhaus-Universität Weimarin Germany. Her absolute favorite thing to do is exploring new places and cultures.

What is your favorite country or travel experience? Bicycling the EuroVelo cycle paths in Europe. I have bicycled the Elbe River, Rhine, Rhône, Loire and Danube river routes and followed the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage on two wheels, and there is nothing better than seeing the world pass slowly by while on a bicycle.

Do you have a favorite travel hack that you’ve done? My first time flying business class was on a $500 mistake fare from Asia to London to the US, allowing me to fly home for Christmas in style when I was living in Shanghai. It was like being inside an actual dream.
