We’ve seen a lot of great transfer bonuses and award sales lately, but Avianca has decided to get creative and offer something we haven’t seen yet.

For the next few days, they’re offering TWO very different (and very valuable) award flight promos that will be beneficial to all of you.

Here are the two components of this deal:

1. Buy one, get one free award flights from the U.S. to Central and South America (when booking for two passengers)

2. A 20% discount on award flights from the U.S. to Europe

Both of these deals are pretty exciting, and I’ll tell you why…

Avianca offers some pretty incredible rates for flights between the U.S. and Central America, including a few examples below out of Miami:

But even if you live in the Northeast, Avianca still offers solid rates to cities like San Salvador, where you can fly from New York for just 6,800 LifeMiles one way.

Because of this promotion, you could fly two people round-trip to El Salvador for a grand total of just 13,600 miles and a grand total of about $100 in taxes and fees.

That’s a pretty incredible deal for a flight of that distance.

One key aspect of the terms and conditions you’ll want to be aware of is that this is a mileage rebate, NOT a discount.

Therefore, you’ll need to pay the full price for both passengers’ tickets, and then 50% of the overall miles will be rebated.

But let’s move on to the second part of the promotion, which is likely the more exciting one for most of you…

LifeMiles is also offering a 20% discount on award flights to Europe.

I’ve already told you about how LifeMiles offers better prices on Star Alliance awards to Europe than any other program, so this is a VERY enticing opportunity, especially when you get creative with some of LifeMiles’ sweet spots.

For example, you can fly from New York to Lisbon, Portugal, in business class for just 35,000 LifeMiles on a normal day.

This is ridiculous…

The economy price of the same flight is only 5,000 miles less, so it’s impossible to argue with this value…

For reference, Aeroplan charges 35,000 points for the same flight in economy… 😬

Anyway, a 20% rebate on this flight would mean flying from the U.S. to Europe in business class for 28,000 miles and $28 in taxes and fees…

So here’s the bottom line:

Avianca continues to woo U.S. travelers with two new AWESOME award flight deals.

🎉 Flying Blue’s July Promo Rewards

The start of a new month means the fresh release of Flying Blue’s monthly Promo Rewards!

If you’re new around here (or just need a refresher), each month, Air France and KLM’s joint loyalty program, Flying Blue, releases monthly promos where you can find discounted award flights to destinations all over the world.

Here are the deets for July:

• Book flights between now and July 31 to receive up to 25% off reward tickets

• This applies for travel dates through December 31, 2024

…that about sums it up. Pretty easy 🙃

This month features flights from cities all over the U.S. to Europe—Atlanta, Denver, Dallas, Raleigh, and even flights from Montreal (yay Canada!).

And as you can see, many of these flights start at just 15,000 miles for economy class!

I say it each month, but that is a killer deal, my friends.

🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday

The correct answer is... Hong Kong!

Hong Kong has once again been named the most expensive city in the world for expats in the 2024 Mercer Cost of Living Survey.

Closely following Hong Kong is Singapore, ranked second, with Zurich, Geneva, Basel, and Bern in Switzerland taking third, fourth, fifth, and sixth places.

The survey, which analyzed 226 cities based on the cost of over 200 items, including transportation, food, and entertainment, found New York to be the most expensive U.S. city, coming in at seventh place.

London, which was 17th last year, jumped to eighth place, while Nassau, The Bahamas, and Los Angeles rounded out the top ten.

Toronto was named the most expensive city in Canada at 92nd, followed by Vancouver at 101st. Mexico City saw a significant rise, jumping 46 places to number 33.
