Good morning, and welcome back to Daily Drop. 🌞
I just parted ways with my Daily Drop teammates here in Vietnam, so while I fend off my crippling depression, let’s have a lighthearted and quick newsletter today:

✈️ Book JetBlue flights for 700 points
You read that correctly, folks.
As of yesterday, you can now book JetBlue basic economy (which they call Blue Basic) fares using points, which previously wasn’t possible.
Of course, there are some caveats here…
Basic Economy means more restrictions… For example:
There are hefty change and cancelation fees
There is no free seat selection
You will be the last to board the plane
BUTTTTT…
If you’re just looking for the cheapest possible option, Basic Economy can save you some cash or, now, some points. 😎
The most drastic fares are short-haul domestic hops, which you can find for as little as 700 points one-way right now between cities like Charleston and New York:
I don’t suspect these fares will last very long, so if you’re a JetBlue fan and want to lock in some EXTREMELY cheap flights, you have very little to lose by shelling out 700 points.
Even other routes like Nashville to New York have this same fare available:
Anyway, the real savings come in with the longer, more expensive routes.
For example, JetBlue flies a number of flights between the East Coast and Europe.
This flight from Boston to Dublin would normally cost a tad under 39,000 points. Now, with Blue Basic, you could fly the same route for just 33,000 points.
5,000 points isn’t crazy savings, but hey - small batches of points add up. 5,000 points is enough for an entire flight somewhere else in the U.S., especially if you’re booking for multiple people and saving that amount multiple times.
In case you need a refresher, you can transfer points from various credit cards to JetBlue, so earning points can be done in a matter of minutes.
So here’s the bottom line:
JetBlue is selling their cheapest (and most restrictive) fares with points, which is awesome.
If you’re willing to sacrifice some flexibility, seat selection, etc., you can fly the same plane in the same seat for fewer points. Which we love. ❤️
Oh… and shoutout to a future Daily Drop team member for being the first person to find this deal. 😉

🏨 Earn an easy 5,000 IHG Points
IHG. We love them. I’ve been a member for years and have continued to get value from my membership, co-branded card, and points.
But I suspect many of you aren’t even IHG members yet…
And that’s VERY good news. 😎
Because for a limited time, IHG is offering a nice chunk of 5,000 bonus points when you become an IHG member (which is free) through this signup link.
Of course, there are some things you’ll need to do.
And by “some things,” I mean “one simple thing.”
All you need to do is book a paid stay at an IHG hotel within 21 days of registering, and that stay can be as short as one night.
So if you have any travel planned already and can take advantage of this for a hotel stay, that’ll be easy.
If you might have travel coming up, wait to register until within 21 days of that trip so you can book a cheap stay and get these tasty bonus points.
5,000 points isn’t a ton, but it’s enough to book an entire free night at plenty of budget hotels around the world!
Even if you don’t use it for an entire night, you can add it to your stash and put those points toward your next trip.
If you have a family, sign up your spouse and kids, too. Then book single individual nights under each person’s account and rack up even more points.
