Good morning and welcome back to Daily Drop! We’ve got some last-minute tips and a fun announcement today, so let’s get straight to it:

✈️ Alaska and Hawaiian sales

It’s been a pretty slow start to the new year… but I’m happy to announce that two of the best airlines in the U.S. have shaken things up.

Until the end of the day TODAY, you can save both cash and points on flights all around the U.S., including to Hawaii.

Alaska Airlines flash sale

First up is Alaska Airlines, which is offering a sale on both award flights and cash flights, with some prices as low as $39.

Again, you need to book these flights by the end of the day today, and travel can take place between January 28th and March 19th.

Overall, there are some excellent prices, especially for Seattle-based travelers and shorter regional flights.

Example of a flight from Seattle to Portland for $39 or 4,000 Alaska Miles

As you can see, these dirt-cheap flights are also selling for 4,000 Alaska miles… but that’s not a great deal.

Alaska miles can pretty easily be worth 1.5-2 cents each, so using 4,000 of them for a $39 flight is poor value.

But there are still cheap award flights that offer VERY good value.

For example, last week, I flew on American Airlines from New York to Toronto, which is bookable for just 4,500 Alaska miles. 👇

Given this flight costs $172 otherwise, Alaska miles are yielding 3.4 cents each, which is a GREAT value.

Don’t forget that for the time being, you can still transfer MR Points to Hawaiian, then instantly to Alaska - so if you have MR Points you can absolutely get them into your Alaska account today to book these flights.

Hawaiian Airlines flash sale

Next up on the docket is Alaska’s sister airline, Hawaiian Airlines, which is offering some verrrrrrrrry enticing deals to and from Hawaii.

This deal is also only valid for today for travel taking place through early March.

Overall, I think this deal is much better than the previous sale… and that’s because Hawaiian is offering a ton of different flights between Hawaii and the mainland U.S. for just $99.

LAX-OGG for $99 in economy

The $99 fares are strictly for West Coast cities like Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Francisco, which is great.

But even if you’re elsewhere in the U.S., there are still reasonable fares available.

You can even fly from Boston or New York all the way to Hawaii for just over $200, which is a great deal.

Sadly, this sale does not apply to award flights, unlike the Alaska sale… 😭

If you’re a frequent flyer of either Alaska or Hawaiian OR you want a cheap getaway in the next couple of months, make sure you hop on these deals by tonight at 11:59PM PST.

🍪 Tasty Travel Tidbits

⭐️ Good news! United is installing free Starlink Wi-Fi on all of its planes sooner than expected, with some jets getting it in just a few weeks.

🇬🇧 As of yesterday, U.S. citizens need to receive an ETA to enter the U.K. and pay a $13 fee. The good news is that it will be valid for two years and multiple entries. Click here to apply.

✈️ Speaking of the U.K… British Airways just sent out emails to all members telling them that their program has been completely overhauled (or, more accurately, butchered).

That’s all for today, my friends! I hope you enjoyed today’s newsletter and I hope you like the new website updates.

As always, have a lovely day and I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow. ❤️
