Good morning! Welcome back to another episode of Daily Drop, the most exciting and action-packed newsletter on the planet.

It’s like a James Bond movie, but with a far less handsome main character (me).

Here’s what I’ve got today:

✈️ United’s new MilePlay offers

Every few months, United comes out with what they call MilePlay offers.

Essentially, these targeted offers (which vary by person) will award bonus miles after you complete certain activities with United.

United MilePlay landing page

Generally, this means paying cash for flights.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen United throw out new offers, so I was pleased to see one roll into my account recently:

My personal MilePlay offer

As you can see, my offer is to earn 3,000 bonus United miles after completing one flight.

Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

For my personal offer (which seems to be the offer that others are getting, too), here is the fine print:

  • You must register for the offer

  • Must complete one paid flight within 60 days of registration

  • The flight must have a base fare (i.e., the price before taxes) of $100

It’s important to ensure that the “base fare” is more than $100 to meet the minimum spending requirement of the offer.

Terms and conditions for the MilePlay offer

I know of other people who have received offers that include the same number of bonus miles but a higher minimum spend; so be sure to check your own offers carefully.

If I lived in the U.S., booking with United to earn 3,000 extra miles would be a no-brainer.

For example, you can fly from Newark to Los Angeles nonstop on United for $124 in September.

Newark to LAX for $124 on United

That’s a pretty solid price.

If we go onto United’s website and get to the checkout page, we can also see a breakdown of the fare, taxes, and other fees.

In this example, the base fare comes out to… wait for it… $100.82.😎

A breakdown of the fare and associated fees from aforementioned flight

Therefore, this ticket would meet the $100 spending requirement and earn us the 3,000 bonus miles.

So here’s the bottom line:

3,000 bonus miles isn’t a ton… but if you’re a United flyer or you need to book travel anyway, you might as well earn the extra miles.

Plus, you might have an offer that’s even better than mine, so make sure you go check your account (or click this link) and register.

🍪 Tasty Travel Tidbits

😬WTF: Ramp workers at Vancouver International Airport broke a crate containing… wait for it… A bunch of live EELS. The eels flopped around on the tarmac for a while before eventually being recaptured.

✈️ Etihad will be increasing its number of weekly flights to Boston by 75% beginning in late October. This means more connectivity between the Northeast and the world, and more opportunities to fly on one of the world’s best airlines.

🎯(Targeted) American Airlines is targeting some people with an offer to earn 20,000 bonus miles when flying with them over the next few months. Check out this article and check your accounts to see if you’re one of the lucky ones!

🌎 Where in the World Wednesday: Puerto Vallarta (in business class!)

Okay, y’all. We are balling in business class today with this latest FareDrop deal down to Puerto Vallarta 👇

Screenshot of a FareDrop deal to Puerto Vallarta

$678 round-trip in business class is a pretty solid deal, especially when normal prices for this flight hover around $1,100😮

This deal specifically is showing that good price for September, but also a very comparable price in November… perfect for when the weather starts to turn.

Mexico is just a great destination for those seeking a little relaxation, adventure, and culture…

Plus, it’s pretty dang close to a lot of us in the U.S., so the flight down there isn’t like a horrendous 30-hour journey 🙃

And let’s be honest, if you’re booking a trip to PV, you’re probably going there to lie on a beach for 16 hours a day, drink margaritas, and snap your fingers for poolside tacos.

But if you did want to do something besides lounging, here are a few ideas.

Speaking of tacos… I’d HIGHLY recommend this Taco Adventure Evening Food Tour. And it is a proper adventure.

PV also has a fantastic Art Walk and just a generally cool street art scene.

Oh, and if you’re looking to burn off some tacos and tequila, hike Mirador de la Cruz for incredible views or work up a sweat trekking from Boca de Tomatlan to Playa Las Animas.

I hope you found a little travel inspo here today! And if you want to jump on a cheap (business class!!) flight just like this one, check out all that FareDrop has to offer🙂

Last week, we dropped a bomb on you when we told you about this card offering a mouth-watering 120,000-UR Point welcome offer.🤤

It’s one of the best offers we’ve ever seen… But reading about card offers is boring.

Now, watching videos about card offers…? That’s more like it.

Check out this week’s Daily Drop YouTube video where Brendan explains this offer in a super approachable way. 👇

That’s all for today, folks! While that United offer is not the most exciting thing in the world, free miles are free miles - so why the heck not? 🤷🏼‍♂️

We’ve still got plenty of good stuff for you this week, so be sure to tune in tomorrow.

Have a lovely day ❤️
