Good morning from Shanghai, one of the world’s great cities. And today, we have another installment of one of the world’s great newsletters.
Yesterday was packed full of content, so let’s keep today easy and breezy:

💳 20% transfer bonus to Avios
Transfer bonuses. They make the world go ‘round. Or rather… they make us go ‘round world. 🌎
It’s been a little dry in the transfer bonus world, so I was excited and overwhelmed with joy to see a bunch of them pop up overnight.
Especially this one… because it’s a 20% bonus to an airline program I use all the time: Avios.
Specifically, you can transfer ThankYou Points to Qatar Airways with a 20% bonus until March 15th… and this is way more broad of an opportunity than you may think.
Let me explain:
Generally speaking, the best use of Qatar Avios is for booking Qsuites, Qatar’s excellent business-class seat that feels more like first class.

From the U.S. and Canada, you can fly Qsuites to Doha for as few as 70,000 Avios, which is a great deal for a 14-hour flight.
With a transfer bonus like this, you’d be able to book the same deal for just 58,000 ThankYou Points, which is a wicked good deal.
But Qatar Avios are useful in tons of other ways, too.
For starters, you can use them to book domestic flights in the U.S. on American Airlines.
You can book short-haul hops like this one from Charlotte to New York for 9,500 Avios and about $10 in fees. 👇
With this transfer bonus, that’s just 8,000 ThankYou Points to hop around the U.S. on American Airlines.
For reference, American Airlines charges 12,500 miles for the same flight on the same day… and you can’t even transfer points to AA!
Of course, if you have a card that earns MR Points, your best option is to just transfer points to Alaska and book the same flight for 4,500 miles… just sayin.
But if you only have ThankYou Points at your disposal, this is the next best option.
And don’t forget that because these are Avios, you can freely transfer them around between various airlines.
Specifically, you can move them instantly between British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, and Aer Lingus.
That means that you could also use this transfer bonus to transfer 21,000 ThankYou Points to Qatar, move them freely to British Airways, and book this flight from North America to Scotland.
And you could even add a few days in London with a free stopover!
So here’s the bottom line:
Avios is one of the most flexible points currencies out there. I personally use them all the time (mainly with Qatar) and am always thrilled to have another way to earn more of them.
If you fly Oneworld airlines, I’d consider shipping some ThankYou Points over ASAP.

🏨 25% transfer bonus to Hilton
Okay, now let’s move on to a transfer bonus that might not sound crazy, but is actually a solid deal, in my humble opinion.
Until March 14th, you can get a 25% bonus when you transfer MR Points to Hilton.
The key here is to remember that the normal transfer ratio to Hilton is 1:2.
So, on any given day, you can turn 1,000 MR Points into 2,000 Hilton points. With this bonus, 1,000 MR Points become 2,500 Hilton points, which is great.
For example, I’ll be traveling to Nashville a couple of times this spring and staying at Hilton hotels.
You could book hotels like these ones for just 39,000 Hilton points in downtown Nashville:
(By the way, I found that example using Daily Drop Pro, so make sure you go sign up! 👀)
With this bonus, you’d only need to transfer over 15,600 MR Points per night, which is a GREAT rate to book hotels in an expensive city like Nashville.
But don’t forget…
Hilton also gives you every 5th night free when using points. 😏
So let’s say you apply for a credit card like this one. After hitting that minimum spend, you’d end up with at least 66,000 MR Points.
If you transferred those over to Hilton with this bonus, you’d end up with 165,000 Hilton Points.
That’s enough to book a 5-night stay at this Hilton in Munich, which is my favorite hotel in the city!
So here’s the bottom line:
Generally speaking, there are better uses for your MR Points than with Hilton…
But when we have a 2.5x multiplier like this, you can get some awesome value and some otherwise expensive hotel stays, so I’d definitely consider it.

🤣 Meme

That’s all for today, amigos! It’s good to see banks getting back on the transfer bonus train.
Come back tomorrow, where I’ll mix things up a little bit and throw in a fun surprise. 😉
See you then,
