Goooooooood morning from Lijiang, the historic ancient town in the heart of Yunnan, China.

The Daily Drop writing team is working together in person today to bring you another newsletter packed with some BIG updates from the points and miles world.

Here’s what we’ve got:

💳 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic

FINALLY, eh? It’s been a while since we’ve seen a proper transfer bonus… and it feels good to kick off the month with one that’s about as good as it gets.

For the next two weeks, you can transfer UR Points to Virgin Atlantic with a tasty 30% bonus.

30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic has a great program for two reasons:

  • They offer the best award rates between the U.S. and Europe

  • They have some unique partner award opportunities that often go overlooked

Let’s start with the first one…

Since Virgin revamped its program last year, it’s been possible to fly from the U.S. to London for as little as 6,000 Virgin miles one-way.

With this 30% bonus, you could fly across the Atlantic for just 4,600 UR Points… that is an insane opportunity.

For reference, this card is currently offering 60,000 UR Points as a welcome offer (64,000 after meeting the spending requirement).

That means that one low-annual-fee credit card could buy you about 14 (yes, FOURTEEN) flights between the U.S. and Europe if transferred to Virgin.

If you’re lucky and can find one of Virgin’s cheap business-class fares for 29,000 miles, you’ll only need to shell out 22,300 UR Points to do the journey in a lie-flat seat.

But Virgin has some other unique sweet spots, too.

For example, you can fly around Europe on airlines like KLM and Air France for as few as 4,000 miles, which can be a great deal during peak travel seasons.

You can also do these short hops for just 8,000 miles in business class, which is not a bad deal if you want some nice airport services and lounge access.

If you travel with a family, using this transfer bonus and booking these cheap intra-European flights could really add up in savings.

Anyway, this is a great deal.

If you don’t have any UR Points to play with, don’t worry; Virgin offers bonuses like this a few times a year.

So hop on a good welcome offer now so you don’t miss out next time. 👍

✈️ Fly from the U.S. to Europe for 19k points flat

Speaking of insane deals for flying to Europe…

An unlikely hero has emerged from the points and miles woodwork to offer a new, exciting partnership.

Specifically, JetBlue now allows you to book flights on TAP Air Portugal using JetBlue miles.

And, against all odds… it’s an amazing deal.

Let me tell you why…

TAP Air Portugal flies to a bunch of U.S. cities ranging from Boston to San Francisco.

Wherever you’re traveling from, you’ll pay just 19,000 JetBlue miles in economy or 59,000 miles in business class.

Those are competitive rates by any standard (although it might not seem like it after that Virgin deal 😉), so it’s nice to have another solid option for getting to Europe on the cheap.

But the most exciting part is that these rates stay the same even when flying from the West Coast, including cities like San Francisco:

JetBlue miles are also fairly easy to come by. You can transfer points from the following programs at the following ratios:

Overall, this is just a great new addition to the U.S. points and miles landscape.

Next time you plan a trip to Europe, make sure you add JetBlue to your list of programs to keep tabs on!
