Goooood morning. I am, personally, enjoying the laziest of weekends having just touched down from a multi-week-long trip around Asia with my BFFs, Mike and McKay.
Seriously, Iām draped in several blankets. And several cats. And Iām not movingā¦ š«
But anyway, letās talk travel, shall we?

ā The Southwest Companion Pass offer is BACK.
ā Status match to this airline to become a SkyTeam elite.
ā Earn 5,000 easy peasy IHG points by signing up for a free member account.
ā Did you know itās possible to use miles and points to book a dream trip to the Maldives? This weekās YouTube video will show you how!

š Favorite pick of the week: Earn mega points for paying your taxes
There are many irritating things youāre obligated to do once you become an adultā¦ Like scheduling your own dental appointments, responsibly saying ānoā to adopting more cats, and paying taxes (just to name a few š).
The silver lining to one of these things is that you can actually earn a fat stack of points by paying your taxes with a credit cardā¦
Which is fun because we like to travel here at Daily Drop.
But itās trueāthe IRS website provides you with multiple ways to pay your taxes, and using a credit card is on the list.
Be aware that it usually comes with a processing fee (typically under 2%), so you always want to consider that beforehand.
For instance, if you owe $10,000 with a 2% fee, thatās a $200 fee. If you owe $4,000, thatās an $80 fee, and so on.
Iāve personally been paying my taxes with a credit card for years, though, because the additional fee is still 100% worth it to meā¦ if Iām trying to meet a welcome offer on a new card š
One year, I signed up for the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, paid $4,000 for my taxes, met the spending requirement instantly, and earned myself over 80,000 Capital One Miles (75,000 miles for the welcome offer, plus 8,000 miles for the 2x miles per dollar earned on $4,000).
It was baller, and you can bet that I redeemed those miles for future free flights!
There are so many scenarios where you could take advantage of paying your taxes with a credit card, and if youād like some more examples, check out our full-length newsletter section.

š„Final days of the Daily Drop Pro Sale ($50 off + FREE packing cubes!)
Iām dead serious. Our Daily Drop Pro sale ends MONDAY, February 17th.
And let me give you my elevator pitch one last time (for now š). Daily Drop Pro allows you to search for ANY route on ANY date, and itāll do all the work for you to generate a list of the best possible points redemptions.
Itās also so much more than thatā¦ You can do the same thing for hotel searches or just get cheap, custom cash deals sent straight to your inbox.
Our YouTube video walks through all of its features if you want those deets.
For example, I ran a search from LAX to Tokyo, and I was shown several ways that I could get there using Avios, Delta SkyMiles, and even American Airlines miles (and these were just some of the options) š
The fact that you can do this all in one place, with one search, makes finding (and booking) award seats so much easierā¦ even for a self-proclaimed āproā like me.
Butā¦ it gets even betterā¦ because thereās that whole āsaleā thing I mentioned š
If you sign up for Daily Drop Pro by February 17th, youāll get $50 off our Pro Plan for your first year. PLUS, youāll also receive a FREE set of our custom, DDP-branded packing cubes.
I just did a trial run with our packing cubes on my recent trip to Asia, and they definitely passed the vibe (and function) test.
So if you want in on this deal, and also genuinely want to make searching for flights with points much quicker and easier, consider signing up for Daily Drop Pro. I think youāll love it! š
š„ Book a JetBlue flight for 700 points
Booking an award flight for under 1,000 points is basically unheard ofā¦ until now š
Earlier this week, JetBlue introduced the ability to book their basic economy seats (what they call Blue Basic) with points!
Now, these seats are truly basicā¦ Like big change and cancellation fees and no free seat selection type of basic.
But hey, if youāre down for that, then using verrrrrry few points for a flight sounds pretty dang sweet.
For reference, hereās a route from Charleston to New York featuring that cheeky 700-point redemption š
I need to emphasize that 700 points for a flight is WILD. And remember, you can transfer points to JetBlue from a handful of different banks for easy booking.
If youād like some more examples of how to utilize JetBlueās program, you can check that out here.
